Hand Therapy Week 2026

Sri Ramachandra Faculty of Occupational Therapy (SRFOT) successfully hosted a comprehensive COTE program and Panel Discussion on 6th June 2026 at the Dental Basement Auditorium, in commemoration of Hand Therapy Week 2026. Aligned with the theme of “Sporting Injuries,” the academic event provided a platform for interdisciplinary learning and advanced clinical training.

The program featured enlightening lectures from distinguished guest speakers from the Department of Hand Surgery, SRMC & RI. Dr. Srinivasan Rajappa (Head and Professor) delivered an expert discourse on “Hand Surgery in Sporting Injuries – Restoring Function and Performance.” Dr. Subashini R (Associate Professor) elaborated on “Evidence Based Practice in Finger Tip Injuries & Rehabilitation,” while Dr. B Nellaiyappan (Associate Professor) provided vital insights into “Closed static traction in PIP joint injuries – Defining its role.” Following the lectures, a dynamic panel discussion featuring Dr. Subashini R and Dr. B Nellaiyappan was meticulously moderated by Dr. Yashwanth SP (OT), Assistant Professor, SRFOT. Through these sessions, undergraduate and postgraduate students gained invaluable clinical insights into advanced hand rehabilitation, split-deficit management, and specific recovery protocols for athletes.
