In observance of World Leprosy Day 2026, Sri Ramachandra Faculty of Occupational Therapy, SRIHER (DU) successfully conducted a Continuing Occupational Therapy Education seminar titled “Hansen’s Hand – Surgery & Rehabilitation”

The session, held on 30th January 2026 at the Dental Basement Auditorium, featured a comprehensive technical discourse by Dr. Subashini R, Associate Professor, Department of Hand Surgery at SRMC & RI, focusing on the critical integration of surgical procedures and rehabilitative care. The event saw a robust attendance of 204 participants, comprising both Undergraduate, BOT Interns & postgraduate students of SRFOT, who engaged in specialized learning to address the complex functional challenges associated with Hansen’s Disease. This academic initiative further reinforced the institution’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 3, 8, 10) specifically in the areas of health equity, specialized medical training, and the reduction of societal inequalities.
