An Occupational Therapy: PTSD Awareness Screening Program was successfully conducted at the Sri Ramachandra Faculty of Occupational Therapy Mental Health speciality , Paediatrics OPD & OBG Ward, SRIHER with the aim of creating awareness and early identification of at-risk individuals. .The program benefited approximately 60 Mothers, along with caregivers and staff, through screening, awareness sessions, and guidance regarding Occupational Therapy services. Suitable referrals were obtained for further Occupational Therapy follow-up and continued care.Awareness handouts were distributed among all participants to enhance understanding of their stress symptoms and occupational therapy mental heath servicesits & role in improving their quality of life.The initiative was carried out with the valuable support and guidance of the institution, contributing towards strengthening community-based Occupational Therapy services.
Activities Conducted:
1. Screening: Standardized PTSD screening tools were administered to identify at-risk mothers and caregivers.
2. Awareness Session: Education on maternal–neonatal bonding, kangaroo mother care, grounding techniques, and stress management strategies.
